Praise, The Password of the Believer (2)
BIBLE STUDY: PSALMS 100
For those who decided to join me in starting a Praise Journal this month, let me start by asking, how is it going? Do not worry if you haven’t been able to keep it going or if you haven’t started even though you wanted to, it is never too late to start, you can start this week. For those who started and have kept filling their journals daily, I am sure you have testimonies already, please share with me so I can post to encourage others.
Psalms 100:5 (TPT)says, “For God is always good and ready to receive you. He is so loving that it will amaze you, so kind it will astound you! And He is famous for His faithfulness toward all.”This Psalms was one of the first psalms I learnt by heart in Yoruba (my native Nigerian Language), but as I started looking at it again two weeks ago, I found that it had so many secrets I never realised contained in it. This verse says God is always Good and ready to receive me. This past week I have had experiences I have never had before in my life with Him. As I wrote down the reasons for thanking Him that day, it was amazing how much of His goodness and love I felt around me. After writing each one I stopped to just thank Him for His kindness and for the peace I enjoy just because He is so good to me and I trust in His love for me. The fact that he did not allow the enemy to have his way by bringing any emergency situations my way last week is amazing. Only he can do that for His children. Psalms 105:14-15 (TPT)says, “Yet God would not permit anyone to touch them, punishing even kings who came against them. He (God) said of them, ‘Don’t you dare lay a hand on my anointed ones, and don’t do a thing to hurt my prophets.’”God will not allow the enemy touch us because we are His anointed ones (Jesus Christ has made us righteous before Him and separated us to be called His anointed ones) and He calls us kings and priests. He punishes those who try to come against us and says to them “Do not lay a hand on my children.” As a child of God (One who has given up his/her life to Jesus Christ, studies, meditates, and obeys the regulations of God and is led by the Holy Spirit) there are so many benefits we enjoy. One I particularly love is the fact that I enjoy peace in my spirit, soul, and body as a result of my union with Jesus Christ. I have no reason to worry or fear because my loving and kind Father, Who has promised He will never leave or forsake me (and I believe Him because he gave me the gift of Himself as the Holy Spirit to live inside me) and will be with me everywhere I go. He is so loving and kind that He paid for all my sins (past, present and future) and brought me into a new relationship with Him by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ His Son. He took off my stained clothes and clothed me in a new and stainless robe even though I did nothing to deserve it. He is so kind and loving, He says He will fight all my battles and I should just hold on to the peace He has given me as a gift. As the Scripture in Psalms 105 proves, He will never allow the enemy to rejoice over me or trouble me. I am indeed astounded and amazed by His love and kindness for me. This is part of the reason I am glad to be keeping the Praise Journal; as I write my reasons down, I have the opportunity to really think deep and give a heartfelt praise from deeply within my soul. I let God know I do not take all He has done for me for granted and I refuse to say a general “Thank You” because he deserves much more than that.
Brethren I do not know about you, but this past week has brought me into a deeper intimacy with God and daily I see myself guarding my relationship with Him more jealously than I have ever done before.
GOD’S LOVE FOR ME IS SO AMAZING AND HIS KINDNESS SO ASTOUNDING and I am realizing this more and more as I fill in my Praise Journal every evening.
