BIBLE READING: PHILIPPIANS 4
“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering faith filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell Him every detail of your life, the God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.” Philippians 4:6-7 TPT
What a mega difference a week can make in one’s life!!!!! When I was writing last week Sunday, I never would have imagined that we would be where we are in Nigeria today. I have never experienced the range of emotions I have felt this week in my life before and as everything was happening, all I was asking God was a Word to hold on to. Initially when the protest started, a Word had come during one of our weekly prayer meetings specifically for Nigeria from the Lord saying “GOD HAD MOVED INTO NIGERIA FOR GOOD. GOD IS IN THE MIDST OF NIGERIA AND HIS GLORY HAS RISEN UPON HER.”We (members of my women’s fellowship) all started speaking this Word into Nigeria, as we all know the power in the words we speak. Our Words create and so anytime anyone tried to change the narrative God had given us with their comments, we would always answer back with the Word God had given us for Nigeria. I did not know God was preparing me for what was coming the following week. The Bible tells us that the only defensive weapon is the Word of God and this week I have had to use my weapon to fight like never before.
As the news of the incident on Tuesday evening started filtering in, I first of all thought it was a lie and so I switched on my television and lo and behold every news channel was carrying the story of the “Shooting at ‘EndSars’ protest”. I immediately started praying because I knew if I did not take control of my mind and emotions, the devil may want to take advantage and start putting unnecessary thoughts into my mind. I knew a few of my friends’ children who were part of the protest and just started praying to God to keep them safe. As I prayed, Philippians 4:6-7 kept popping into my mind, so I asked God for a miracle, asked Him to take charge of the horrible situation I was watching on television and to tell me what was really going on. Suddenly, I felt God’s peace and an unusual calmness in my spirit and then I remembered my confession “God has moved into Nigeria for good”, I said it over and over until I felt no fear at all in my mind anymore. I called my friends and was told all the children were home safe and sound.
As I write now, I still do not know the true story of what happened but all I know is that the extent of the evil the devil planned was not accomplished. Change has come into Nigeria and God is now enthroned in Nigeria. So many Words have come for Nigeria and I am standing on each one of them, speaking them into the soul of Nigeria. I do not care about what I see or hear, all I know is LET GOD BE TRUE AND EVERY MAN A LIAR and on this I stand. The battle for righteousness in Nigeria is won! Everyone has their part to play and God has poured out His Spirit on us for the assignment He has given to us. The question is, what is your assignment in this process of change as a child of God? Are you the Esther of our time because of the position you hold in government or the people He has connected you with in government? Are you called to intercede for the youths, the Government and everyone protesting? Do you have the ear of the youths and have been called to advice them? Are you called to give financially? God confirmed my assignment by reminding me of Exodus 17:11, which says,“When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and when he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.”What is God calling you to do?
Brethren, nothing must stop us giving thanks to God. St John of Avila (1500-1569) wrote“One act of thanksgiving when things go wrong with us is worth a thousand thanks when things are agreeable to our inclination” so give thanks to God in every season of your life.
For those who have lost loved ones, I ask Abba Father to comfort them and grant them His peace in the name of Jesus Christ Amen. May God wrap His loving arms around them and heal their aching hearts in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
For those who have lost their means of livelihood and property I pray the Lord will give them double for their losses in the name of Jesus Christ. Our latter days will be greater than our former in the name of Jesus Christ Amen. Let us remember these words:
“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me (I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency). Philippians 4:13 APMC
PRAISING AND GIVING HIM THANKS WHEN WE ARE GOING THROUGH VERY HARD TIMES, THAT IS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE!!!
“ARISE, SHINE NIGERIA, FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME! AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD HAS RISEN UPON YOU.” ISAIAH 60:1 NKJV
